Lovefest Incident Reporting and Concerns Procedure
At Lovefest, we aim to create safe, inclusive and respectful spaces. If you experience, witness, or hear about something that doesn’t align with our values, we encourage you to raise a concern or report an incident. Our intention is to review all concerns and incidents with love and compassion.
1. Self-Responsibility
We encourage all community members to practise self-awareness and self-responsibility. Where it feels safe and appropriate, you are invited to address concerns directly with the person involved before escalating further. We understand this is not always possible or comfortable, and in those cases, you are welcome to reach out through this process.
2. Scope of Reporting
We will directly address incidents that occur at Lovefest events. If you provide information about an incident that happened elsewhere involving a Lovefest community member, this will also be received with care and may inform how we manage safety and wellbeing within Lovefest.
3. Reporting an Incident or Concern
You can share your concern through our Incident & Concerns Form. Please include as much detail as you feel comfortable providing. All information will be treated respectfully and confidentially.
4. Initial Review
Your report will be received by our organising team and acknowledged as promptly as possible. Where appropriate, it will be passed to the LoveKeepers – our dedicated wellbeing and safety guardians – for review.
5. LoveKeepers’ Review & Actions
The LoveKeepers will carefully consider the circumstances of the report. Possible courses of action include (but are not limited to):
Supportive Resolution – facilitating a conversation, mediation, or other steps to restore safety and wellbeing.
Temporary or Permanent Change of Role/Participation – for example, adjusting or ending an artist/facilitator/crew member’s involvement in Lovefest activities where safety, trust or wellbeing is at risk.
Referral to External Services & Community Resources – such as recommending or supporting contact with police, health professionals, or child protection agencies where necessary; or offering connections to community-based support including restorative justice processes, men’s groups, counselling, or other wellbeing modalities.
Exclusion from events for repeated or serious breaches of the event entry agreement and/or the code of conduct at Lovefest events
Safety is our priority. If we are advised that a Lovefest community member is under investigation by police or other relevant authorities (such as child protection, workplace safety, or regulatory bodies), we reserve the right to temporarily exclude that person from events and/or roles while the investigation is ongoing. This action is taken as a precaution to prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our community and does not imply an assumption of guilt.
Where exclusion occurs, we will review the outcome of the investigation and consider whether a pathway for return is appropriate.
6. Follow-Up
We will keep you informed about the steps taken and outcomes where appropriate and possible. Our intention is not only to resolve concerns, but to support the continued growth of a thriving community that learns and evolves together through care, accountability, and connection.
7. Our Commitment
Lovefest is built on trust, care, and community. By raising incidents and concerns with openness and compassion, together we create spaces where everyone can feel safe, respected, and free to connect in joy and authenticity.
